Forensic Science for High School

Grade Levels: High School

OVERVIEW

Forensic Science for High School is a high-interest, inquiry-rich integrated science curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking and problem solving through the use of real-world forensic science methodologies.

Forensic science as a discipline is a natural vehicle for students to practice science as inquiry. For every piece of physical evidence brought in for analysis, the student must apply the scientific method of:

• observing

• forming a hypothesis

• collecting and classifying data

• testing the hypothesis

• looking for relationships

• advancing to a conclusion or opinion
