Semesters could be reversed if your course requires trigonometry in the first semester. It is recommended that the last chapter, Chapter 15, form the culmination of the course because it ties together much of what they have learned throughout the year and introduces the concept of instantaneous rate of change, using limits that have been studied earlier in the course. A formal study of derivatives and integrals is deliberately withheld so that students are not lulled into a false sense of security when they encounter these topics in Calculus.
