The goal of Chapter 13, Water Quantity, is to understand the importance of adequate quantities of quality water for meeting the needs of modern societies.

John W Christensen

John W. Christensen taught science in the Cherry Creek School District in Englewood, Colorado, for 27 years. He pioneered in the development of global science materials as early as 1968. Broadening and improving these materials has involved years of study and travel to conferences, workshops, conventions, and resource-related facilities from coast to coast. Mr. Christensen received a B.A. from Augsburg College* in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and an M.S. in Natural Science from New Mexico Highlands University, majoring in physics, chemistry, and mathematics. He has both attended and taught at numerous summer institutes across the nation supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF). He was on the writing team that produced Harvard Project Physics and spent two summers working on the National Science Teachers Association’s (NSTA) Project for an Energy-Enriched Curriculum. Mr. Christensen spent four summers on an NSF team focusing on the production of relevant classroom materials for uncommitted students. Mr. Christensen is now retired from the high school classroom. He works full time on the Global Science Curriculum Project.

Teri L Christensen

Teri L. Christensen teaches high school biology, global science, and AP environmental science in the Cherry Creek School District located in the Denver metropolitan area. She works on expanding global science materials during the summer months. Ms. Christensen received a B.S. degree from California Lutheran University where she majored in biology with an emphasis on marine biology. She interned with the National Resource Conservation Service (formerly the U.S. Soil Conservation Service). She earned a M.S. in biology from the University of Northern Colorado with an emphasis on botany. Her graduate thesis was a seed viability study done through the Center for Genetic Resource Preservation (formerly the National Seed Storage Laboratory) in Fort Collins, Colorado. She earned her Colorado teaching license through the University of Denver.
