Author(s): ILLUSTRATIVE MATHEMATICS

CHOOSE FORMAT

IMKH California, an IM® v.360 math curriculum, is problem-based and builds strong classroom math communities. It gives students a clear progression of concepts and helps teachers deepen their understanding of math and student thinking.

The curriculum encourages collaboration and meaningful mathematical conversations, highlighting Big Ideas, Major Concepts, and Mathematical Practices, while integrating Environmental Principles & Concepts and supports for MLL, ELD, and EL students.

Algebra 1

The big ideas in Algebra 1 include one-variable statistics, focusing on data collection, analysis, and interpretation to understand quantities in context and develop collaboration and communication skills. Students study linear equations and systems of linear equations, representing relationships in various situations, and extend their work to two-variable statistics, examining relationships using two-way tables, scatter plots, and linear models. They solve and graph linear inequalities and systems of inequalities to represent constraints, and deepen their understanding of functions, including linear, piecewise-defined, exponential, and quadratic functions, analyzing features, domain and range, and average rate of change in real-world contexts. The course concludes with quadratic equations, exploring equivalent forms, the quadratic formula, and rational and irrational solutions, further extending understanding of the real-number system.

Teacher Guide Set: This purchase includes a set of 3 coil-bound guides (Units 1-3, 4-6, 7-8), a set of 3 shrink-wrapped Teacher Resource Copy Masters (Units 1-3, 4-6, 7-8), and the Teacher Resource Guide.
