CHOOSE FORMAT

IMKH California, an IM® v.360 math curriculum, is problem-based and builds strong classroom math communities. It gives students a clear progression of concepts and helps teachers deepen their understanding of math and student thinking.

The curriculum encourages collaboration and meaningful mathematical conversations, highlighting Big Ideas, Major Concepts, and Mathematical Practices, while integrating Environmental Principles & Concepts and supports for MLL, ELD, and EL students.

Grade 7

The big ideas in Grade 7 include studying scale drawings and proportional relationships through tables, equations, and graphs, exploring the relationship between a circle's circumference and diameter, and working with percent increase and decrease. Students develop fluency with operations on rational numbers, including rules for negative numbers, before applying their skills to solving equations and simplifying expressions. Geometry, including angles, triangles, and prisms, as well as probability and sampling, are also key focuses, with an optional final unit offering opportunities to apply and connect these ideas in real-world and mathematical contexts.

Teacher Guide Set: This purchase includes a set of 3 coil-bound guides (Units 1-3, 4-6, 7-9), a set of 3 shrink-wrapped Teacher Resource Copy Masters (Units 1-3, 4-6, 7-9), and the Teacher Resource Guide.

The Grade 7 curriculum is partitioned into 9 units:

  1. Scale Drawings
  2. Introducing Proportional Relationships
  3. Measuring Circles
  4. Proportional Relationships and Percentages
  5. Rational Number Arithmetic
  6. Expressions, Equations, and Inequalities
  7. Angles, Triangles, and Prisms
  8. Probability and Sampling
  9. Putting It All Together
