In 2187 of the Fifth Long Age, a mother he did not remember brought Isker Bey into the world and into the slavery that burdened all the survivors of the conquered Bensahari nation. Ripped from the only family he did remember at the age of four, Isker found himself in the violence-prone dormitories of the Labor Ministry, in preparation for a life of servitude - to the Harapis, or the Sarakans, or perhaps even the Zenhai. Ten years he endured the horrors of the only place he knew. In 2201 of the Fifth Long Age, the routine slave train rumbled across the Saraka Dominion, and south toward the Saba Desert. From within the cage that carried him, Isker Bey of the Bensahari never imagined the future that awaited him at the isolated Citadel in a mountain valley of the Saba Desert. There he finds Sahar, the Last Timekeeper - and within her the great destiny that awaits him. Together, they endeavor to bring justice to a dark world, freedom to the oppressed, and prepare for the terrible calamities of the Last Day which will mark the end of the Age of Sahar, and the beginning the Age of Isker Bey. Here begins the epic adventure of Isker Bey and the Last Timekeeper. The tale continues in volume two, Isker Bey and the Timekeeper's Revenge (2024) and concludes in Isker Bey at World's End (2025).
