RESEARCH & REVIEWS
Each Project A3 unit was reviewed in depth by mathematics and gifted education experts, including mathematics coordinators, gifted educators and consultants, classroom teachers, and math education professors. Each unit was also field tested at the appropriate grade levels. Over the course of the 3 units, students were engaged in the activities in a variety of urban and suburban settings; in a differentiated group in regular math classrooms; in a pullout gifted enrichment program; or in a gifted math program in urban and suburban schools. Revisions to the units were made by authors based on reviews and feedback from the field test school visits, teacher interviews, and teacher feedback forms. The names of reviewers, teachers and schools can be found in the Acknowledgements of each unit.
